Environmental Education Center, Nature Store, 155-acre Wildlife Sanctuary
Since 1971, Connecticut Audubon Society's Center at Fairfield has offered year-round environmental education programs for children, families and adults, educational exhibits including live animals, children's birthday parties, summer camp programs, Scout programs, and special events. On the grounds is a live "Birds of Prey" outdoor compound where some of the Center's larger education animals live, including Peregrine Falcons, several Owl and Hawk Species, and a Turkey Vulture. The Center's Nature Store offers unique, nature-inspired gifts for all ages plus a great selection of bird houses, bird feeders, bird baths, birding guides, bird seed and more! Adjoining the Center is the 155-acre Larsen Wildlife Sanctuary, featuring seven miles of trails including the Chiboucas Wheelchair-accessible Trail for the Disabled, boardwalks, observation platform, interpretive signage and an Algonquin wigwam replica.
